AWARDS AND HONORS

Roy H. Liddell

Managing Member

Roy Liddell’s litigation practice is varied and geographically dispersed. He represents clients ranging from small businesses to large companies in cases involving business disputes, significant accidents, claims of fraud, intellectual property disputes and bad faith insurance defense litigation. He approaches litigation by always seeking early resolution, when feasible, and vigorously defending cases when necessary. Roy emphasizes personal attention to and clear communication with his clients. “I want clients to know that I understand and appreciate their personal stake in the outcome of their cases. They need to know we sincerely care about that outcome and will work diligently for the best possible result.”

Roy has tried numerous cases to verdict, including a case in which he secured a defense verdict in a multi-million dollar contract claim by a hospital against a managed care company and a defense verdict for a trucking company in an action alleging wrongful death in an accident. Roy’s appellate experience includes obtaining reversal of a $38,000,000 verdict against an insurance company accused of bad faith in handling an insurance claim and affirmance of a summary judgment in favor of an insurance company in a case testing the outer limits of an agent’s authority to bind the company to unauthorized transactions.

Roy also has significant experience defending financial institutions and manufacturers in class action lawsuits in Mississippi and beyond, including service as lead defense counsel for a bus manufacturer in class litigation and a related nationwide settlement of regulatory claims.

A native Jacksonian, Roy earned a B.B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin and a J.D. from the University of Mississippi School of Law. Every year since 2007, he has been selected for inclusion in Mid-South Super Lawyers and was selected as a Top 50 Super Lawyer in 2018 and 2019. Roy has been named a Best Lawyer in America from 2012 through the present and by Benchmark Litigation as a Local Litigation Star from 2013 to the present.  Additionally, Roy was named to the American Society of Legal Advocates in 2013 and is recognized by ASLA as a Top 100 Litigator in Mississippi.

Away from the office, Roy enjoys travel, live music, and Texas Longhorns football.
