It is with profound sadness that our firm announces the passing of our colleague and dear friend, Betty B. Arinder. Betty passed away on March 11, 2026. She was born on September 22, 1962, in Winona, Mississippi. Betty graduated cum laude from Millsaps College in 1984 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and later earned her Juris Doctor from Mississippi College School of Law in 1988.
Betty was married to the love of her life, Gary Arinder. Together they raised three wonderful children: Tori Arinder Hood (Ben), Amy Arinder Whittenton (Will), and Graham Arinder. She was also the proud grandmother of two beloved grandchildren, Liam and Jamey Whittenton. Betty was deeply devoted to her large extended family, whom she loved dearly.
Betty enjoyed a long and distinguished legal career practicing employment law and workers’ compensation defense. We are especially grateful that she spent the final 16 years of her career as a valued member of the Wells Marble team.
Betty sincerely loved her work and, more importantly, her clients and the members of the workers’ compensation community. She received many numerous professional honors and was widely respected in the legal community. However, she treasured most the time she spent with her family and loved ones. She will be deeply missed by everyone at Wells Marble and by all who had the privilege of knowing her. While we mourn her untimely passing, we also celebrate a life well lived.
