Wells Marble is pleased to announce that Michael D. Anderson and Daniel J. Hammett have become members of the firm.
Michael’s practice primarily focuses on complex litigation in both federal and state courts, with extensive experience in commercial litigation, contract disputes, insurance defense, and many other areas. Licensed in both Mississippi and Louisiana, Michael brings expertise in the legal systems unique to each jurisdiction. A native of McComb, Mississippi, Michael graduated from the University of Mississippi with a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies and Public Policy. He then graduated in the top 10 of his class from Mississippi College School of Law summa cum laude where he earned seven (7) AmJur awards, served as Technical Articles Editor on Law Review, and was elected Student Body President of the school. After law school, Michael clerked for two Justices of the Mississippi Supreme Court: Chief Justice William (“Bill”) Waller Jr. and Presiding Justice James (“Jim”) Kitchens. He has been recognized by Super Lawyers as a “Rising Star” and by Best Lawyers in America in their “Ones to Watch” category for multiple consecutive years.
Daniel brings years of experience litigating complex commercial disputes, bad faith claims for different lines of insurance, and other cases involving personal injury, medical malpractice, premises liability, employment law, and unfair competition. In addition to his achievements in both federal and state trial courts, Daniel has successfully argued before the Mississippi Supreme Court, a venue where he once served as a legal intern to the Honorable James W. Kitchens. Born in Jackson, Mississippi, Daniel graduated from the Mississippi College School of Law summa cum laude where he earned eleven (11) AmJur awards, was the production editor and contributing author for Law Review, and was a Fellow of the Young Lawyers of the Mississippi Bar Award. Daniel was also recently recognized by Super Lawyers as a “Rising Star”.
