Meta Copeland has been inducted as a 2023 Fellow of the Mississippi Bar Foundation. Membership in the Foundation recognizes an attorney’s achievement of the highest level of professionalism, competence, leadership, and service to the profession. Only 10% of lawyers in Mississippi are eligible for membership as a Bar Fellow. Meta is the firm’s most recent member to become a Bar Fellow, joining F. Hall Bailey, Philip A. Gunn, and R. James “Jimmy” Young in receiving this honor.
Meta practices as a litigator with an emphasis on complex claims and bad faith defense. She draws on her experience teaching legal skills courses as a professor at Mississippi College School of Law for thirteen years. Meta is actively involved in state and local bar associations and currently serves as the first Chair of the newly-formed Women in the Profession Section of the Mississippi Bar Association.
