Richard is an experienced civil litigator, who joined Wells Marble as a member in 2010.  For almost twenty years, he has handled the defense of casualty claims and for the last ten years, he has also provided insurance coverage analysis.  His primary defense practice areas include trucking law, professional liability, premises liability, products liability and construction law.  Richard is licensed and currently practices law in both Mississippi and Louisiana.

  • Obtained defense verdict for State-administered intermediate care facility in a wrongful death medical malpractice action alleging facility employees were grossly negligent and breached the standard of care in their care and treatment of the Plaintiffs’ decedent.
  • Successfully defended nationally-recognized architectural firm in claim involving over $1 million in alleged damages.
  • Successfully defended national design professional firm in claim involving alleged mold damage in 4-Star hotel in Southern Louisiana.
  • Obtained summary judgment for client in automotive rollover case involving claims of respondent superior liability for agent.
  • Represented to successful conclusion several oral-maxillofacial surgeons in claims of professional malpractice.
  • Representation of Northern Louisiana nursing home in claim that resulted in directed verdict for the defense.
  • Obtained defense verdict in Hinds County following medical malpractice trial wherein Plaintiff alleged $5,000,000 in damages for alleged failed orthopaedic surgical procedure resulting in amputation.
  • Obtained defense verdict for surgeon in an arbitration proceeding involving claims for breach of the standard of care in the surgeon’s treatment of an orthopaedic injury.
