For over ten years, Kevin Rogers has practiced with Wells Marble and Hurst, defending clients in a wide-variety of lawsuits, which include banking and finance; commercial litigation; construction litigation; ERISA and employee benefits; medical malpractice; premises liability; products liability; and trucking litigation.
Kevin also has an active business collection practice and has frequently represented creditors in obtaining and recovering judgments against debtors, as well as protecting creditors’ rights in bankruptcy court proceedings. He uses his broad range of litigation experience to provide advice to small companies on business practices, including the drafting and preparation of contracts designed to protect his clients’ interests and minimize the risk of future litigation.
In August of 2013, Kevin represented a bank as a plaintiff in a trial against a developer arising out of the development residential subdivision development. After completion of the trial, Kevin obtained a $1.2 million judgment on behalf of his client.
Kevin is admitted to practice in Mississippi and Alabama state and federal courts. Kevin also has an active appellate practice and has prepared briefs in over ten different appellate proceedings in state and federal courts, including before the Mississippi Supreme Court and the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. He has also argued cases before the Fifth Circuit and Ninth Circuit Courts of Appeals.
Kevin was born and raised in Meridian, Mississippi, and he earned a B.A. in English from Mississippi College, magna cum laude, and a J.D. from Mississippi College School of Law, magna cum laude. During law school, he was the Chief Executive Editor of the Mississippi College Law Review, which completed nearly two years of work during his final year of law school, and Kevin’s case note was selected for publication by the Editorial Board.
Kevin enjoys speaking to business groups and individuals and, for the past three years, has lectured to commercial landlords and property managers during on landlord and tenant law issues.
Kevin lives with his wife and two daughters in Brandon, MS.
